This past Wednesday 2/10, the Gwynedd basketball team faced Nazareth Academy on their senior night. The two teams battled it out through the entire game, but the monarchs pulled ahead in the second half and took the win. This win over Nazareth Academy maintains the monarchs undefeated season with an 8-0 record. The basketball team hopes to continue this winning streak when they take on Mount this Saturday 2/15.

The highlight of Wednesday’s game, however, was honoring the senior athletes of the basketball team. Kaylie Griffin ’21, Julia Masterson ’21, and Carly Andrews ’21 have dedicated four years to Gwynedd’s basketball program and were celebrated with cheers, balloons, and flowers from their teammates. Kaylie Griffin, the senior captain, plans to continue her basketball career beyond high school and play at Saint Joseph’s University next winter. Gwynedd also gave a shout out to the senior team manager Maggie Boyle ’21 who has been managing the team since her freshman year at Gwynedd. The team also honored senior Katie Denitz ’21 who has been live streaming all of the home games for the viewers who cannot attend the games because of COVID-19 protocols. Congratulations to all the seniors involved in Gwynedd’s basketball program!
