Today, our community at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School came together in faith to mark the beginning of the Lenten season with a beautiful Ash Wednesday liturgy led by Father Buck.
As a Catholic school rooted in the Mercy tradition, Lent is a sacred time for us — a season of reflection, sacrifice, prayer, and renewal. During this 40-day journey toward Easter, we are called to grow closer to God and to live more fully as disciples of Christ.
During the liturgy, students and faculty received ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a cross — a visible sign of our faith and a reminder of our call to repentance and renewal. The ashes symbolize humility and our shared commitment to grow closer to Christ throughout this season.
