The 2025-2026 GMA Cross Country team’s motto this season is “One Unit” and they have definitely lived into it. You can feel their sense of community and enthusiasm for each other as each of them crosses the finish line. This year the GMAXC team built a bond less like teammates and more like sisters. From XC summer camp at Bear Creek, to daily after school workouts and weekly meet bus rides, and post practice team pasta parties, the team has become a unit on and off the course. With the support of their coaches, Coach Vinnie & Coach Colleen, and their dedication to each other and to the sport, the team has been celebrating win after win.
On October 14th , the GMAXC team ended their regular season as 2025 AACA League Champs, defeating Mount, Villa Maria, Villa Joe, Sacred Heart, and Merion at Tyler State Park. GMAXC Varsity seniors Anna B, Molly O, Peyton S, Lucie V and Reese M, along with sophomore Ava C and freshman Olivia G, helped clinch the AACA champ title, with Reese leading the team with a time of 18:09. GMAXC JV also won the AACA JV League Champ title. The GMAXC team then moved onto Districts on October 24th at Lehigh University with an outstanding performance in the AA race – with 5 girls in the top 10 and all 7 in the top 14, clinching the title of AA District 1 Champs. Next up? The PIAA State Championship was on November 1st in Hershey, PA. The GMAXC team – Reese M, Anna B, Molly O, Lucie V, Peyton S, Ava C, Grace M, Kaeleigh M, Olivia G — clinched the #2 spot claiming the title of PIAA District 1 States Runner Up. Another victory for this team, who ended their season in complete awe of how much they’ve accomplished as individuals and as one unit. The GMAXC will miss their graduating seniors that make up a big part of the Varsity Team, but the team has a deep bench of up-and-coming stars, so stay tuned for next year!
