Great Start for Gwynedd Volleyball

Gwynedd Volleyball is off to a great start this season! After weeks of practicing under the CDC guidelines, including wearing a mask during practices and limited gym capacity, the girls overcame the impossible and have finally started their season. The team had their first game of the season against Sacred Heart Academy on October 14th. After a tight five set game, the Varsity team came out on top with a 3- 2 win. On October 16th, Gwynedd took on Villa Joseph Marie Academy. Before both the JV and Varsity game, Mrs. Fasano led the teams in a moment of silence to extend Gwynedd’s sympathy to the Villa community for the tragic loss of VJM senior Maria Middleton ‘21. The Gwynedd girls wore blue ribbons, Villa’s school color, on their shoes in solidarity for Maria. On a night of well wishes and good spirit, Varsity won 3-0, placing them as one of the highest ranked schools in the district. Monday, October 19th, GMA celebrated Senior Night with a game against Saint Basil Academy. JV won 2-0, and Varsity won 3-0, a great night for our volleyball team and a great night for our seniors.
