Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School was filled with princesses and superheroes on Saturday, February 21st, as families gathered for the school’s annual Character Breakfast. The event, organized by Mercy Effect, offered a lively and memorable morning for children, parents, and volunteers. The school transformed into a magical world: the Connelly Commons became a Disney music concert complete with raffle baskets and a wonderful breakfast for all. The event provided a photo room with themed backdrops and photo opportunities with beloved characters. The gym turned into a Disney dance party, while nearby classrooms hosted themed stations such as superhero Jedi training, glam rooms for hair and makeup, and creative craft areas. The Breakfast raised funds for an organization that aligns with our Mercy Values and Critical Concerns, allowing us to make a meaningful impact together. In the end, the Character Breakfast proved to be a wonderful success and a fantastic time for Mercy Effect and everyone who took part. “I look forward to the character breakfast every year and am always amazed at how well the staff decorate the building! The day is so special and we all get to see how happy the children get upon entering the breakfast.” – Isabella Lyons ‘27 member of Mercy Effect
