Gwynedd kicked off midterm study week the week after Christmas break. Throughout the red and gold halls, students were given time to prepare for midterm exams and review past coursework. Teachers used class time to host review sessions for each designated upcoming exam.
On January 5th, students returned to Gwynedd from a long Christmas break. From January 5th to the 9th, students were able to get organized, focus on areas that need improvement, and go to teachers for help. The halls were buzzing with students preparing for midterms. Seminar classes were switched to study halls for students to give them extra time to study. In other classes, some teachers created interactive study games, while others created helpful study guides for students. During Community and WIN periods, students visited teachers, studied in groups throughout the new wing, and made use of the quiet study room in the Lecture Hall. Midterm Study Week benefited all students, whether they studied nonstop or balanced their study load.
The purpose of Midterm Study Week is to reduce stress and help ease the weight of the upcoming midterm exams. The week allows students to reflect on the first semester and make changes to their study habits in preparation for the upcoming second semester.
On Friday, January 9th, the students had an I day, where they were able to visit every class on their schedule rather than just even or odd classes. Students were able to meet with their teachers one last time before midterms commenced.
Midterm Study Week is a valuable week between the first and second semesters to help students feel more confident going into the week of midterm exams.
