Once upon a Christmas Eve
The elves and reindeer hung their wreaths
Upon the chimneys and the eaves
Of their cozy North Pole cabins
But a cold wind blustered from the west
Bearing a curse for the man in the red vest
Causing him to greatly detest
The entire Christmas season
I noticed this tragedy from the start
My dear Mister Claus with his now-frozen heart
And knew that Jack Frost had torn it apart
With his cruel, frozen spell
So, I flew away in Santa Claus’ sleigh
To find Jack Frost and save the day
To save St. Nick’s heart from frigid decay
And Christmas Eve as well
So, I arrived at Jack’s palace
My heart filled with malice
Toward the bitter, old, callous
Mage who inhabited these halls
“Jack Frost!” I cried
As I stormed inside
And two icy blue eyes
Stared with the might of twelve snow squalls
“Ah, Mrs. Claus! What a surprise,”
Jack Frost said in the most mocking tone that one can surmise
“How are you handling your husband’s demise?”
I replied, “Jack Frost, why have you done this?”
“As Santa is praised, I’m the one the humans abhor
However, once Santa Claus is finally no more,
I shall be the one they adore
As the true Lord of Christmas!”
“Through blizzards of snow,
The people will know,
The King of Winter is no other
Than I!”
“Nonsense!” I chided. “Your will I’ll subdue!
I shall not be cold-hearted like you!”
“Oh, but Mrs. Claus, it’s already too late!
Look within yourself, your heart is full of hate.”
In a moment of terror, I realized he was right
My heart was as frozen as Santa’s that night
But St. Nick’s true words rang out in my soul
“Keep Christmas in your heart, lest you want a stocking full of coal!”
And that is how I saved Christmas that day
The warmth of my heart melted Jack Frost away
And as I returned to the North Pole town
The village was back, safe and sound
And my dear Santa Claus was fully OK
So we packed all the toys in the sleigh
And in the blink of an eye, Santa soared
And brought gifts to children around the world
