On Tuesday, April 25th, Gwynedd Mercy Academy held the annual Arts Festival, featuring talented artists, engineers, scientists, and musicians of the student body. The hallways were colorfully and gorgeously decorated with art pieces spanning all the way from realistic portraits to beautiful sculptures. Guests viewed the exhibits and gave encouraging compliments to the student creators, who were incredibly deserving of all the praises. Following the fine arts and STEM portion of the evening, students, families, and friends gathered in the Performing Arts Center to watch the wonderful music department present what they had been so dedicated to working on for the past few months. The theme of the performances centered around “Music of the Stage and Screen” and featured hits such as the theme song of Friends, “I’ll Be There for You” by the Rembrandts, a mashup of classic Disney princess songs (arranged by choir director Mr. Borton himself!), and Hugh Jackman’s “From Now On” of The Greatest Showman. Before the performance officially concluded, the graduating seniors and Gwynedd arts faculty were, with many tears, given a moment of appreciation and presented with flowers and so much love. The audience was blown away by the amazing talent they witnessed the evening and will continue to support the arts at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School.
