Project Mercy: Christmas Party

Lucy Ke

On Monday, December 19th, a large number of Gwynedd Mercy students participated in a Ministry and Service event to help run a Christmas party for young children in Philadelphia. The event was in partnership with Mercy Neighborhood Ministries, and it proved to be an exciting afternoon filled with happy holiday cheer. The Gwynedd girls were very much looking forward to this event and were so eager to hang out with the kids. The community at Mercy Neighborhood Ministries was extremely welcoming, and the spirit of Christmas was present in everyone there. Upon arrival, Gwynedd girls truly experienced some magical Christmas spirit as they helped Santa Claus with distributing gifts, which were donated by the Gwynedd Community through the annual Giving Tree. The girls danced and sang along to jolly Christmas carols, organized crafts and games to play, and shared a pizza party meal with the children! The afternoon was filled with fun times, laughter, and so much joy. The sight of the grinning little children, jumping and dancing with joy to Christmas songs, brightened the day of every person in the room. Gwynedd is so thankful to have gotten this opportunity to be part of such a wonderful celebration. The event concluded with both the Mercy Neighborhood Ministries children and the Gwynedd Mercy girls cheerfully singing, “We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!” The students truly will enjoy a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, reminiscing on the beautiful memory of this party that was loaded with the joy of the season. Merry Christmas!
