On Monday, February 7th, the basketball team hosted Nazareth Academy for Gwynedd’s senior night. That night, senior players Bianca Coleman, Sofia Coleman, Elizabeth Lowry, Jenna Mangan, and Madeline Newell were celebrated and honored for their four-years of dedication, and their impact on the team.

The hard-working team practices every day and reflects their diligence in their games. Sofia Coleman stated, “We put in so much work during practices so when we get to the games, we excel.” Their hard work was exposed in their senior night after Gwynedd finished the game on top with a score of 49-22 giving a every payer a chance to score. Lizzie Lowry emphasized, “It was great to see everyone get into the game and get the opportunity to score. It was an amazing night celebrating the senior’s past four years, and next year it will be hard to not have practice to look forward to everyday. I will definitely miss basketball and the connection we as a team have.” Maddie Newell then supported her outlook expressing, “Everybody was able to score during senior night and played amazing. Basketball season has always been my favorite memory throughout high school, and I am glad we played well during my senior night!”

Even senior Jenna Mangan, who is unfortunately unable to play this season due to an ACL injury, was cleared to get into the game to make a lay-up. She stated, “It was really great to be out on the court with my teammates again and I am glad I was given the opportunity to do so.”

The team has continued to succeed this season with an undefeated record, placing first in the AACA Girls Basketball League and placing 6th in the state. Bianca Coleman emphasized, “Every single person on the team is a threat to the opposing teams which makes us transcend this year.” The team is now celebrating their amazing season while playing hard throughout districts.
