As fall sports seasons come to an end, the Gwynedd community is looking forward to the winter sports season. Basketball, indoor track, and swimming and diving will compete through the winter months members of the crew team will do winter workouts. These sports are always great experiences for student-athletes, and everyone is excited for November 19 – the official start date of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association winter sports. Freshman basketball player Carsy Kelly, who will try out this month after participating in off-season practices, says, “I’m excited for my first basketball season at Gwynedd!” Senior swimmer Olivia Guarnaccia says, “[Swim season] is something I look forward to every year. This year we have a new head coach, and we are excited to have her.”

Even students who do not participate in winter sports say they cannot wait to cheer on their friends, and multiple seniors have shared that going to Gwynedd basketball games with their friends is always a highlight of the year. Make sure to follow the progress of the winter sports teams on the GMAHS athletic Instagram and get ready to cheer on the Monarchs this season!
