Candlelight 2020

Cassandra Smith

Candlelight stands as one of Gwynedd’s most memorable traditions. This year, the tradition was beautifully continued in January. The various musical ensembles prepared an array of songs to perform at the event. Though the Chorale and Acapella were the only groups able to perform live, the Glee Club, Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble assembled recordings that were played during the tableau. Carly Andrews ’21 and Grace Galbreath ’21 took on the roles of Mary and Joseph, Hailey Morris ’21 and Lauren Slovensky ’21 oversaw the baby Jesus as angels, Maggie Boyle ’21, Claire Cotton ’21, and Maddie Tronoski ’21 portrayed the shepherds, and Siobhan Brogan ’21, Kelly Murray ’21, and  presented gifts as the three wise men. The senior class were invited to view the scene as angels while a livestream was provided to the entire Gwynedd community and alumni. Another special recognition of the birth of Jesus was successfully portrayed by the class of 2021 and will be remembered for the years to come.
