On Thursday, September 23rd, Gwynedd’s red and gold corridors were filled with mercy spirit as the entire student body celebrated Mercy Day! The day was packed with fun activities for everyone to participate in. Spirit club kicked off the morning with a phenomenal dance routine followed up by booming school cheers. The festivities then transitioned into some intense games of dodgeball and challenging games of team trivia. Big shout out to Brock for providing everyone with a delicious lunch of chicken nuggets and mac and cheese! After lunch, a screening of Jane Goodall’s documentary, The Hope, was shown in the PAC, so that students could learn more about this year’s critical concern of the earth.

The highlight of this year’s mercy day activities had to be the afternoon tug-of-war competition. Seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen all faced off at the opposite ends of the rope and attempted to pull their way to victory. The senior class swiftly took down the juniors and freshmen in the first two rounds, and then had to face off the faculty and staff. The teachers put up a great battle, but in the end, the senior class pulled through to claim their victory! Thank you to all the students and faculty that organized these events to make this another memorable mercy day! It was a huge success, and we cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!
