This past week, we celebrated the 35th Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day! The Gwynedd Instagram kicked off this event by sharing an inspiring video created by Emmy award-winning videographer and editor, Alex Nolan ’10. Following the video, the gold and red cohorts walked through the halls covered with pictures of accomplished female Olympians, Paralympians, and athletes. Specifically in the glass corridor, the windows displayed posters of our own accomplished athletes. Alannah Cunningham ’21, Katherine Denitz ’21, Hailey Gomez ’21, Kaylie Griffin ’21, Ella Gross ’21, Kylie Habertroh ’21, Gabriella Lorenzo ’21, Katharine Morgan ’21, Samantha Saxon ’21, and Alexandra Wenz ’21 were all honored on their commitments for various sports to a variety of well rounded schools.

Additionally, empowering music created by female musicians played in between each class with songs like “Confident” by Demi Lovato and “Roar” by Katy Perry. With each song, a description was included about the message behind the inspiring lyrics. This event was a perfect way to honor professional athletes and empower our Gwynedd athletes as we begin spring sports!
