On Thursday, May 4th, the Gwynedd Mercy Academy Leadership Department held their annual LEAD4CHANGE graduation to celebrate the wonderful students that had participated in the program throughout the school year. Twenty-eight students received their diplomas and certifications in leadership after they presented the passion project that they had been working on so diligently on all year to their families and friends. The girls met frequently during the 2022-2023 school year and used the time to plan, collaborate, and present service projects that would be submitted to the LEAD4CHANGE organization. At every meeting, the atmosphere in the room was beyond encouraging, as each member lifted her classmates up and spread positivity to all of the projects. Each year, the LEAD4CHANGE program awards grants to students with phenomenal ideas, and each year, Gwynedd receives grants for the projects! The Gwynedd students of the program presented unique and creative ideas such as “Handmade Happiness” to focus on the mental health of the elderly through playing with slime, “The Music Mentality” to present music’s impact on the brain, “Ace That Finance” to teach young girls the essentials of financial management, and so many more impactful projects. Next school year, all 13 of these leadership projects will be revealed to the school community through engaging activities such as educational games or guest speakers.
