On Thursday, September 19, Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School hosted a special celebration of Liturgy with a special guest! Gwynedd Mercy was blessed with the opportunity of hosting Archbishop Perez for Liturgy. The students reverently entered the Performing Arts Center and patiently waited for Archbishop Perez to process in. The community celebrated a lovely Mass. The singers performed beautifully, the readers did a wonderful job and the rest of the student body was incredibly active. Archbishop Perez was very engaged with all the Gwynedd girls, asking questions during his Homily and letting the girls actively participate in this celebration of the Eucharist. At the end of the Mass, he surprised the Gwynedd girls with a day off considering how reverent and engaged they were. He also gave the Gwynedd community a shout-out on his Instagram! After the Mass ended, the Gwynedd community (consisting of alumi, faculty and staff) was invited to the lobby to spend some time with the Archbishop. They were presented with the opportunity to ask questions and connect with Archbishop Perez. Overall, it was an astonishing Mass that everyone enjoyed immensely. It was the perfect kickoff for Gwynedd’s Mercy Day celebration!
