The May Crowning is a very special tradition at Gwynedd, although we celebrate Mother Mary everyday, May is reserved for her memory. The crowning signifies “Queen of Heaven” and marks a new season of growth. At the ceremony, Amanda Phifer ’24 sang the “Ava Maria ” in Italian, while Riley Morris ’24 and her mother crowned the statue of Mary in the quad. The student body watched in reverence of the crowning and were filled with a sense of community bonded through sisterhood and with Mary. Overall, the day of reflection was filled with mercy and executed beautifully
