The day much awaited by the upperclassmen Gwynedd students had finally arrived! On April 12, 2024, the upperclassmen of Gwynedd Mercy Academy dressed up to celebrate the Junior-Senior prom and party hard in honor of the Great Gatsby theme. On Friday morning, each student woke up with an excitement only prom could bring and began to get ready for the day. After taking a few pictures in the rain and accompanied by a rainbow, the students began to arrive at Presidential Caterers. Before entering the main dining room, the girls had to introduce their dates and shake hands with the GMA faculty that had come to attend and chaperone prom. The night began in prayer with Junior theology teacher Sr. Patti. Following the prayer, the students were welcomed to a buffet to eat and chat before the dance floor opened. The minute songs from the Great Gatsby soundtrack began to play, students ran to the dance floor. The upperclassmen spent the night singing, dancing and also trying their best not to trip over dress trains. Outside of the main room, students were able to get pictures at a photo booth accompanied by a Leonarda DiCaprio “Jay Gatsby” cutout. The night was surely one to remember and a wonderful way to celebrate the quickly approaching end to another wonderful school year. Special thanks to teachers, Ms. Monsalve and Ms. Fasano, for all their hard work and dedication to making sure this would be a special day for the upper-class students.
