The past week was GMA’s annual spirit week! Throughout the entire week, students dressed up to fit unique themes to show their school spirit. The week was not only filled with fashionable outfits, but many fun games and surprise events. On Monday, the theme was Jersey Day. Students wore jerseys from their favorite sports teams or dressed like they were from New Jersey. To accompany wearing jerseys, there was a butterfly scavenger hunt that got students searching for GMA butterflies all day! Tuesday was Holiday Hullabaloo where freshmen dressed for Saint Patrick’s Day, sophomores dressed as Christmas, juniors dressed as Valentine’s Day, and seniors dressed as the 4th of July. It was a very festive day awarded with Kona Ice during both Win periods, provided by the Student Council. Wednesday was a Red vs. Gold color war. Freshmen and sophomores wore gold while junior and seniors wore red. Immediately when students walked into school, they got beads to kick off the RoShambo competition. All day, students could battle each other in a rock, paper, scissors competition and gain beads from winning. On throwback Thursday, students dressed as their favorite decade or historical figure. Ranging from 80’s neon, George Washington, and old school uniforms, the outfits were very unique! During Community period that day, students and staff enjoyed the Student Council’s annual GMA’s Got Talent. The show consisted of singing, dancing, and a final RoShambo competition. The four-day week was very successful, loaded with school spirit and exciting prizes!
