Spring Sports Start the Season Strong

Lauren Ryan, Writer

Spring sports at Gwynedd are in full swing, and last week was full of success for all our teams!

The lacrosse teams started off the week strong with both JV and Varsity against Villa Joseph Marie. They continued their winning streak with more great games against Merion Mercy on Tuesday and Nazareth on Thursday.

Also on Tuesday, Softball had an impressive win over Merion Mercy. The team went on to beat Nazareth in an away game on Thursday afternoon, which moved them into third place in the district. Softball hopes to keep up their success in upcoming games against Faith Christian on April 26th and Villa Joseph Marie on April 28th.

Additionally, it was a big week for the Gwynedd Track and Field team, who celebrated their seniors at their home meet on Wednesday. Track and Field had another relay meet at Central Bucks West on Saturday, where they finished in the top 3 in the Varsity 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, and sprint medley relays.

Lastly, to close out the weekend, Gwynedd Crew went to Manny Flick #5 on Sunday. The Varsity 4 boat placed second and overall, it was a great race day for Gwynedd.

The spring sports teams still have several more important weeks ahead, and the Mercy Magnet will continue to watch and report on their seasons. Congratulations to all the spring athletes on their impressive performances last week and thus far in the season. Be sure to support the Monarchs at upcoming events!
