Programming Day February 17th

Alexis Borrelli

On Wednesday, February 17th, the Gwynedd girls had a successful programming day. The upperclassmen stayed home and joined the Ash Wednesday Liturgy while the freshman and sophomores had the opportunity to attend in person. After liturgy, the underclassmen reported to their assigned homerooms. The students in school and at home worked with mentors from the Travis Manion Foundation. The Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) is a national veteran’s service organization, headquartered in Doylestown, that is committed to bringing communities together in character, service, and leadership. Through its signature program Character Does Matter, TMF volunteer mentors inspire young adults to live by the namesake Travis Manion’s mantra of “If Not Me, Then Who…”.  The women veteran mentors from across the Northeast lead a dynamic discussion of Amanda Gorman’s inauguration poem “The Hill We Climb”, focusing on the character strengths of Hope, Bravery and Perspective. Later, the Service and Ministry announced the winners of the George Valentine auction. Thank you to all who participated and donated a raffle item! The day wrapped up with many exciting games of dodgeball. The underclassmen played dodgeball in the gym, with team 7 entering the finals against the faculty. Team 7 from the sophomore class emerged victorious!
